People ask me what the hardest part of competing is. I don’t need to ponder for long. I could say it’s the dribbling over chocolate cakes and Haagen Dazs, getting up an hour earlier to get to the gym before starting a full day’s work, a gruelling heavy lifting weights session and then trying to squeeze in a cardio session at the end of the day. Or even the time consuming food preparation and measuring of everything that enters your mouth. The big bag of crap you have to carry around, Tupperware, protein shaker, supplements, those smelly trainers…the list goes on…. Actually it’s none of those things that are the killer for me. I’m going to be honest here and it’s probably not what most Ambassadors of the health industry would admit, but I’ve found the toughest thing is the effect competition prep can have on your social life, yep and that means the no alcohol. I’m young free and single, (well maybe not so young) so sitting in on a Sat night is not an option…. I won’t lie, it’s not quite the same, without the vodka but I’m still getting out, drinking Diet Coke or soda water, thank god for the fresh lime. (and yes I count it in my macro’s). This party girl won’t stop playing!
