Taking part in WBFF at the O2 in London May 29th 2016
The WBFF is the most glamorous and exciting show in fitness and modelling in the world
And I’ve just entered ..
I’ve been training for months now, trying to build more muscle in what’s called the”off season”. Gym sessions involve heavy intense weight sessions and calories are upped for gains. This is actually incredibly difficult as muscle mass doesn’t happen overnight and can take years. So all those ladies who think by lifting weights they are going to become Muscle Mary, well think again. All that heavy lifting for the past year and I may have gained a pound of muscle!
I’d put off entering the WBFF competition then somebody reminded me that once you’ve made a decision just go for it, don’t look back.
The fear of getting on stage not looking good is overwhelming. Insecurities and body complexes all rear their ugly head and it’s a battle between that and my inner determination. I know I will never be the biggest girl on stage and it seems it doesn’t matter how hard I push myself at the gym the muscles just don’t want to grow. A lot is down to genetics, which I’m fighting against.
More insecurities around my age, let’s face it I’m no spring chicken and at 44 I will be one of the oldest women on that stage. Whatever I say, there is a deep rooted belief in society that youth and beauty go together.
Well looks like I’ve got a lot of proving to do.
For all those 40ty something beautiful woman out there this one is for you.
I’m determine to defy the odds and show them it doesn’t matter how old you are, beauty and confidence comes from within.
I’m holding myself accountable by writing this blog to all you lovely people that are reading this. So you are my motivation and now I have to do this.
There’s no backing out.. only 6 weeks and I’ll be rocking that stage, bring it on!
